To be where little cable cars, climb halfway to the stars

Some Cable Car Facts
Cable cars have no engines. They move through the city by gripping on to a below street level cable that is moving at a constant speed.

The various cable car lines in the city of San Francisco were originally run by separate companies.

The Cable Cars are the only National Monument that moves.

The last surviving cable car lines were almost removed from service in 1947. A public outcry saved them from extinction.
